Things to consider when booking The Record Covers

How much space do you need?

As a five piece we generally need a performance area of 5x3 meters, but we are able to work with a minimum area of 4x2 meters if space is more limited.

How is it best to time things?

8.45pm-9.00pm - Cut cake, photos, first dance

10.30pm-11.30pm - 2nd 60 minute band set

Can I pick the bands setlist?

We are more than happy for you to pick up to 3 songs which we will be happy to work on (If we feel we can do them justice) , We do need the list at least 2months in advance of the event date. As a rule we do prefer if we are left to decide the order in which they are played. This is so we can work on the dynamics of the set.

Where will you travel to?

We are a Rugby based band that are happy to play all over the U.K  however fuel costs will be an additional extra for anything outside of a 40 mile radius. For events further afield accommodation and expenses will need to be considered.

Can I see you play live?

We like to play several local venues, summer festivals and charity events as it keeps us on our toes and connected locally. Check our website and social media for regular updates.

Will you learn our special song?

These are some of the 1st dance songs that we have played for clients in the past.

Stand By Me  - Ben E King
One Day Like This - Elbow
All You Need Is Love - The Beatles
Fix You - Coldplay

Are you able to DJ in between sets?

We can offer playlists that will keep the dance floor busy in between our live sets. We are happy to offer you a bespoke set list, tailor made for you at no extra cost if you confirm your booking within 7 days of receiving your official quote.

Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?

N/A

Can we use your sound system for speeches?

It is probably best for the venue to offer their PA and mic for wedding breakfast speeches as the band will not be around until the evening. We are happy for any addresses by the bride, groom or family during the evening to be made through the bands PA and mics.

What equipment do you use?
We have a full 1100w Alto PA system with a 16 channel mixing desk with a 15” Sub-Woofer. The system can plays to a capacity of up to 500 guests.

Do you have lights?

1 x ACME Equinox LED Moonflower effect Light  We are equipped with a state of the art LED lighting system that provides both the stage and dance floor with the ultimate visual effects.

How long do you play for?

We usually play 2 x 1-hour sets. This can also be divided into three 40 minute sets or 1 x 2 hour set if you prefer.

What time do you start and finish?

We usually start our first set at around 8:30 to 9:30, and play our second set in the final hour of the evening, but again we are totally flexible with this. Arrival and finish times are available from 5pm and midnight as standard. An early arrival and late finish fees are applicable outside of these timings.

How long do you take to set up?

Assuming access to the venue is straight forward (i.e. ground floor room with no steps and vehicle access close to the venue), once all the equipment is loaded in we can normally be set up and sound checked in 60 to 90 minutes depending on the venue.

Can I provisionally book you?

Unfortunately, we don’t take provisional bookings as our demand is such that we would be turning clients away on popular dates. However, when you make an official enquiry with us, your enquiry will be logged in our system and you will be given first refusal on your date should anybody else enquire for the same date.

Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?

We’re happy to arrange a song with you in advance but do not welcome guest for an impromptu sing along as we have had previous experience, which can end in a disaster and we would rather avoid that situation.

Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?

We always carry up to date PAT certification and have Public Liability Insurance cover up to £5M.

How much does it cost to book the band?

Prices vary slightly based on the time of year, the location of your event, timings, and any upgrade options, but our standard price starts at £950. All function bookings are subject to a 20% deposit, payable upon making the booking.
